MEANWOOD VALLEY URBAN FARM VEG BOXES

The Market Garden at Meanwood Valley Urban Farm is a project which grows nutrient-rich, chemical-free fruit and vegetables for local people and ethical businesses.

We’re growing food in a truly sustainable way and teaching others how to do so themselves by involving volunteers, trainees and adults with complex needs in the garden.

You can support the project and get involved by getting a weekly share of veg!
Veg box members will:

  • Enjoy fresh, delicious, seasonal, nutritious veg carefully selected for you each week
  • Collect veg weekly from Meanwood Valley Urban Farm – get to know your farmers and where your food is grown
  • Receive a weekly newsletter with tips for cooking seasonally
  • Enjoy free membership to the farm – visit as many times as you like year-round

easter LAMBS AT MEANWOOD VALLEY URBAN FARM

We’re expecting over 40 lambs to be born this spring at Meanwood Valley Urban Farm! Lambing will start from approximately 28th March and last 2-3 weeks, allowing visitors to see the new arrivals during the Easter holidays.

Our lambs are of rare breeds such as Jacob, Llyn and White-faced Woodland.

A charity established in 1980, Meanwood Valley Urban Farm has for over 40 years provided a site for recreation and learning to Leeds residents. We give skills and training to vulnerable young people and adults with complex needs, who are central to the farm and work hard to maintain the site.

Our animals include sheep, cows, goats, rabbits and guinea pigs – and we sometimes have visitors such as donkeys and pigs.

As well as farming animals, we host workshops, classes and events, school projects and run a community vegetable growing project.

You can visit the farm to see the lambs and our other animals and explore! There are walking trails, gardens and woodlands to enjoy for people of all ages, as well as an on-site café.
