local company will save 150,000 tonnes per year from landfill
Something very exciting has happened at Blackhill Quarry, just north of Golden Acre Park. Mone Bros were honoured to allow Leeds Lord Mayor Councillor Al Garthwaite to not only cut the ribbon, opening their new plant, but also to switch on the power during their ceremony on 22nd March.
Blackhill Quarry wash plant will now divert thousands of tonnes of construction, demolition, and excavation waste from the Yorkshire region away from landfill by transforming it into re-usable construction materials; thus, re-purposing a valuable resource.
Mone Bros are a well-established local Leeds company committed to sustainable solutions for customers and communities with innovative and intelligent engineering at their heart. They understand the importance of thinking sustainably and achieving sustainable development, to balance the needs of the business with those of stakeholders, visionaries not just for today and tomorrow, but also for the longer future. Their large investment in Blackhill Quarry Washplant demonstrates this commitment.
Some of this recycled and re-purposed material will be made available for sale to local residents, so you will not have to travel far for any soil, sand, stone and gravel requirements, plus you can feel pretty good about it too.
