In the Chapel Allerton Community
Set up in 2017, CA Spaces is a volunteer run group who bring colour, greenery and playful art projects to Chapel Allerton.
Projects have included working with street artists on murals and media boxes around the area, planting trees and wildflowers and creating a mud kitchen for children to play and families to meet in a small, unused green space.

Mental Health Mates Leeds
Mental Health Mates Leeds is part of a growing national (and international) network of peer support groups run by people with mental health issues, they meet regularly to walk, talk and share with others, without fear of judgement. It is based on the premise that mental health issues can be magnified in isolation and promotes the message ‘Helping you find your we. Because you are not alone.’

Meanwood Valley Rangers
Volunteers welcomed by the Meanwood Valley Rangers. Volunteers can help to improve and maintain habitats for wildlife, carrying out a range of different tasks from litter picking, scrub control, invasive plant species control, hedge laying, dead hedging, woodland management (coppicing, tree planting, willow pollarding and tree seed gathering) to scything and wildlife surveys. Along with site repairs and public rights of way work, footpath and drainage repairs.

SILKY MEETS THAT LEEDS MAG
THAT LEEDS MAG caught up with Silky before he set off to Wales for one of the last few gigs he had booked. It was the first chat we have ever had and we found out quite a bit about each other. Silky moved to Chapel Allerton in 2007 from York, but has lived all over England. We talked about his lockdown experience and discussed a woodpecker on his bird table.
Meanwood, what makes you mad, sad or glad
By 2030 we will work together to make Meanwood a climate resilient community where all neighbours can enjoy a healthy life with equal access to opportunities, facilities, services and public spaces.
This is our vision for Meanwood over the next 10 years. Our 2020 research has led to three focus areas each with their own projects. We plan to consult again over the next ten years as these projects begin to happen, to be sure the focus areas are still relevant and to identify new projects based on current needs, and new ideas.

Seagulls Paint came on board to advertise in THAT LEEDS MAG in November and I was more than happy to design their advert for them. Doing my research to make sure that the ad reflected what they do and their brand I discovered that they are also a liquid refill store. I went over to visit them to find out more.

THAT LEEDS MAG is excited to be chatting to Toby Green, co-founder of MyCarbon and PhD researcher at the University of Leeds. It is clear from our interview that Toby, co-founder of MyCarbon is incredibly passionate about the environment.
